Walk
The Two-Cake Circular
A proper little loop from the village: easy lanes and field paths out, a good drop into the valley, then a climb home you will feel in your legs. About three and a half miles, and you will have earned a slice of cake. Maybe two.

The GPX also opens in AllTrails, Komoot, Strava and most walking apps.
A circular walk that starts and finishes in the heart of the village, so you can leave the car at home.
Head out along the lanes and field paths on the western side of the village, with long views opening up as you go. The middle of the walk drops down into the valley, a steady descent to the lowest point of the route at around 130 metres, where it is green and quiet and a world away from the village on its hill.
Then comes the part that earns the name. The climb back up is the sting in the tail: around 165 metres (about 540 feet) of ascent over the loop, most of it saved for the way home. Take it steady, enjoy the views back across the valley, and keep in mind the cake waiting at the other end.
About three and a half miles in all. Allow an hour and a half with a few stops to catch your breath. Stout shoes or boots are a good idea after rain, as the field paths can get muddy.
